On January 25, the Shenbi Biological Research Practice Education Base located in the Oriental Happy Valley in Hefei released the country's first standardized research product system based on synthetic biology and gene editing technology, and simultaneously completed the awarding of the Science Popularization Culture Tourism and Research Committee of the Anhui Science Popularization and Culture Industry Association and the signing of multiple strategic cooperation agreements, marking that technological achievements in this field have entered a new stage of large-scale and standardized application.



At the press conference, the "Luminescent Bio" standardized research product kit independently developed by Shenbi Biotech was unveiled for the first time. The package includes a number of core courses such as "The Plants I Raise Glow" and "The Elves Escape from the Deep Sea". It aims to transform technologies such as gene editing and microbial fermentation that were only seen in scientific research papers or high-end laboratories in the past into safe, operable and result-visible research practices.

Li Renhan, founder and chairman of Shenbi Biology, said that as the pioneer of the category of self-luminous plants in China, children can participate in the Shenbi Biology study course and witness with their own eyes the transformation of the microorganisms they cultivate from "non-luminous" to "luminous". Unlike many science popularizations that stay at the conceptual stage, this course covers students from 4 and a half to 18 years old. In Li Inhan's description, in the future, gene editing technology may be able to realize the dreamy scenes in "Avatar", and luminous poplar trees, luminous lotus flowers, etc. will bring changes to night tours and urban landscapes.


In the field of life and health, companies are also conducting forward-looking exploration. Li Renhan revealed that in the future, he plans to use plant cell factories to synthesize high value-added substances, such as using lettuce cells to synthesize insulin, to provide new auxiliary treatment ideas for diabetic patients. In addition, relying on the soothing cold light released by luminous plants, the company has created a "light field healing" space to provide visual fatigue relief solutions for high-pressure people and tap into the growing health therapy market.


The market reacted positively to this. On the day of the product launch, more than 60 groups of parent-child families experienced in-depth courses at the base. Under the guidance of instructors, the children transformed into "bioengineers" and were immersed in scientific exploration.
