From September 25th to 26th, the finals of the 15th "Creating Youth·Huishang Bank" Anhui Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were held in Wuhu. Shenbi Bio's "Star Firefly Night Flower" - the country's first self-luminous plant technology application project at night, won the gold medal in the science and technology innovation group of the competition.
The "Star Firefly Night Flower" project is based on plant endogenous self-luminescence technology independently developed by Shenbi Biotechnology. This technology introduces bioluminescence genes into plant genomes to enable plants to continuously and actively emit light at night. In July 2024, the first self-luminous "Jataka flower" was launched; in July 2025, the country's first self-luminous plant micro-exhibition for the public was held at the National Museum of Natural History. In October, the "Xingying Night Flower" self-luminous sunflower was launched on the Douyin e-commerce platform.
Shenbi Biotech has developed rapidly since its establishment in March 2023, and has successively won the "HKUST Silicon Valley Key Industrial Chain Project Award", tens of millions of financing from Meihua Venture Capital, and 2024 Angel+ rounds of financing. The company's technological achievements have been featured in CCTV special reports and have attracted attention from Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily and other media.
