On the night of August 20, Qingdao Underwater World, the outdoor cliff-"Fluorescent Galaxy Waterfall" created by Hefei Shenbi Biotechnology completed a 32-day exhibition.
There is no fluorescent agent or LED. This "Galaxy" relies on our carefully cultivated luminous bacteria - "Deep Sea Elf", which continuously and stably emits bright fluorescent green light in the rapid cliff water flow, creating a special art exhibition at Qingdao Underwater World this summer, which is even more attractive. Many tourists from all over the country stopped, marveled, took photos, and discussed excitedly... This visual feast intertwined with nature and technology not only received high recognition from the partner Qingdao Underwater World, but also confirmed the feasibility of bringing cutting-edge bioluminescence technology into public spaces.
From the deep sea to the land, let light come to life
The source of this "Galaxy" is the microscopic world in the vast ocean. We found these natural luminescent microorganisms from the deep sea, and through biological cultivation technology, we gave them stronger stability, brighter glow and controllable luminescence characteristics, so that they can leave the laboratory environment and continue to shine in the outdoor running waterscape.
The Qingdao project is the first public verification of this technical system.
